HISTORY OF THE EYE 

WITHIN THE ENEMY’S FIELD OF VISION SERIES, 2005

The title refers to George Bataille’s book. The reference aims to the paradoxical aspects of vision, as something objective but at the same time erotic. The video is a documented action where I blow a condom in front of the camera. It starts to grow and grow until it reaches the cameras lens and starts to push it softly (touching and not seeing) until it blows up. The music underlies duration and rhythm. The idea is to invert the logics of vision by means of a pragmatic action, by an in-vagination of the image.
