BUSHCKETT, 2004
Sound and color video, 20:30 min
The title is a composed word that compounds the names of Bush and Beckett as paradoxical examples of discourse. In this video I read Bush’s discourse 6 months after the September the 11th. I incrusted fragments of one of Beckett’s poems. I read the modified text lineally and each time I get out of track (Beckett’s poem) someone slaps me in the back of my head. The wig is an aesthetical element that dramatizes the reading action.
